The Apocalypse Codex (2012)  Charles Stross



I have read these out of order but it does not seem to matter to much.  Our hero, Bob Howard,   gets to meet the witch Persephone Hazard  and her “Odd Job” Johnny McTavish.  Together they need to figure out what the spooky televangelist Raymond Schiller.   Turns out he wants to bring back the “Sleeper” under the pyramid.   Turns out it takes 100M souls to bring the Sleeper back.  Schiller has a plan to make this happen.  Bob Howard, Persephone, and Johnny needs to foil his plans.  In the meantime Bob is being groomed for upper management and is exploring he new skills a junior eater of souls.  Some fun!
